Who is Alan?
I work as a business professional, but my passions lay in exploring the world of ideas. Through seeking the wisdom of others to alleviate my own ignorance as a 20-year-old, I found the world to be endlessly fascinating. Ever since, I’ve excitedly sought to tell everyone who will listen (and sometimes those who won’t) why I find it so.
With hope, this blog will help me continue that mission.
My writing combines my knowledge in several areas:
- My lifelong fascination with philosophy, history, economics, and psychology. I believe these subjects explain much about the world.
- My professional experience as a management consultant and finance professional. I love drawing frameworks and building financial models.
- My curiosity, which has motivated continuous reading and listening to podcasts about a variety of topics.
Along these lines, I spent the 2020 pandemic writing a book, Frameworks for Life. It’s the user’s manual for life that I wish I had been given.
